COVID-19 Claims Run Out Extension for FSA and HRA Plans
REMINDER: National Emergency brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic Run Out Extension Deadline = 7/10/23.
President Biden signed legislation ending the COVID-19 National Emergency on April 10, 2023. The IRS and Department of Labor (DOL), however, have indicated informally that there is no change to the Outbreak Period set forth in the FAQs issued by DOL, Health and Human Services, and the Treasury Department on March 29, 2023, in which case the Outbreak Period ends on July 10, 2023. The extension gave participants additional time to submit claims for any active plan year they were enrolled in that had a run-out period ending between March 1, 2020 and 60 days after the COVID-19 National Emergency is declared over. Date which we now know was May 11, 2023.
Active and terminated employees who have not yet submitted FSA & HRA claims for reimbursement are urged to do so ASAP.
The deadline is fast approaching. No exceptions will be made. Claims have to be submitted, received & date stamped by HRPro by end of business day on 7/10/2023 to be considered for eligibility.
Anything past that date will be rejected – no exceptions.
Claims should be submitted to either accounts@hrpro.com or mailed to 1025 N. Campbell Rd, Royal Oak, MI 48067 ATTN: Claims Department
Completed claim form needs to accompany each claim submission request. Online claim filing is not available for these type of claims, only manual claims.
